How we work

Capoeira is not just a movement; it’s a philosophy of life. Every motion carries meaning, every rhythm tells a story, and every Roda is an opportunity to explore your potential. Through capoeira, you learn to adapt, strategise, and thrive.

Code of Conduct for the Celeiro de Bamba Scotland

The Celeiro de Bamba Scotland Capoeira Group, under the guidance of Mestre Baiano, is dedicated to the practice of capoeira, valuing its Afro-Brazilian roots and promoting mutual respect and inclusion. Our commitment is to preserve the rich tradition of capoeira while adapting it to the Scottish context, offering a safe and enriching environment for all its members.

Respect and Inclusion: The Celeiro de Bamba Scotland is a space free from any kind of discrimination, whether racial, religious, gender, sexual orientation, or any other nature. We value diversity and individuality, promoting an environment of mutual respect and tolerance.

Hierarchy and Learning: We recognize the importance of hierarchy within capoeira, but we believe that it should be based on knowledge and experience, and not on power relations. We encourage continuous learning and the exchange of knowledge among all members of the group, from the most experienced to the beginners.

Uniformity and Identity: The use of the group's official uniform is essential to strengthen our identity and promote unity among members. The uniform represents our commitment to capoeira and to the Celeiro de Bamba Scotland.

Punctuality and Commitment: Punctuality demonstrates respect for the other members of the group and contributes to a productive work environment. We expect all students to dedicate themselves to training and actively participate in the group's activities.

Ethical Conduct: It is essential that all members of the group behave ethically and respectfully, both inside and outside of training. Attitudes such as honesty, integrity, and collaboration are essential for the smooth functioning of the group.

Prohibitions:

Substances: The consumption of alcohol and other illegal drugs is prohibited before and during group training and events.

Mobile phones: The use of mobile phones during training should be limited to what is strictly necessary.

Offensive behavior: Any kind of offensive behavior, whether verbal or physical, will not be tolerated.

Participation in Events: We encourage the participation of all members in capoeira-related events and workshops, both within and outside the group.
